Our Commitment to Support Our Community
The Siskiyou Resistance Coalition started in April, 2025, in response to national calls-to-action for protests. Since then, we have organized regular events (weekly or bi-weekly) in Mt Shasta, Yreka, and Dunsmuir. Soon Weed will be added to the regular rotation!
All of us, and many of the people who show up to events, are loosely associated with a variety of national or state organizations, including Indivisible, Our Revolution, 50501, Women’s March, Hands Off, Move On, the Democratic Party, DSA (Democratic Socialists of America), Occupy, Veterans, Unions, and more. What unites us is our call to action and our desire to stand up and fight back. Thus, we are a coalition, and benefit from the support and resources of many, many groups.
There is so much we can do, and we need HELP to grow our county movement and presence, and to take it to next levels. We know a lot more needs to be done, and we continue to encourage people to step up and join the courageous few who got things rolling. We know we don’t have a lot of diversity (mostly white, mostly seniors and veterans), but we also know that the safest people on the streets right now are those demographics, so we willingly stand up for all until we can make it safe for all. We are so motivated by everyone who has been showing up. It doesn’t happen without you!

Pass out flyers, Make phone calls, Line up people to speak, Create flyers, Make signs, Lead songs/chants, Play instruments, Help Plan Events!!, Reach out to diverse segments of our communities to see what THEY need, Translate flyers to Spanish, And, MOST IMPORTANT RIGHT NOW: becoming a Peace Keeper to help keep our events positive and safe. Trainings are happening this week for the May 17 events.
